Around 2003-5 at the peak of my early 20's angst, I found a lot of relief reading Adrian Tomine's comic books. They're really simple but incorporate a lot of "mise en scene" if you will.

Without getting too pretentious, Tomine's imagery captures those short and subtle moments that mean a whole lot, but are often never transcribed properly. Everyone experiences those moments, especially in our lonesome.

It's always a good thing to give ourselves a break from our public personas once in awhile.

Hope you enjoyed some of these images!

Bryan Lathrop Photo Session Last Night

Brian Lothrop has been around the Philly Music and Skate scene for a very long time. Last night he dropped by the warehouse and not only tore it up but took some great pics as well. Read a good interview by Jim Murphy for Juice Magazine .

Once again here is another "8 Track" mix. This one is specifically tailored for sedentary lifestyles and can be applied to most personal environments, such as kitchens, autobahns, and futons. Apologies for the 30 seconds of dead silence at the end of the Large Professor song, as well as if you're allergic to House music. As they say, the difference between poison and elixir is the dosage. Enjoy!

"I don't think I had the sophistication to appreciate what a cultural shift hip-hop was when I first heard it, but I was also pretty young. I mean, when you are in 5th grade, every day has it's own eureka moment." - Stretch Armstrong

If you're remotely interested in rap, radio shows, or the original ZOO YORK, then you may appreciate this relatively new interview with DJ Stretch Armstrong.
