To be honest, I wasn't really feelin Wale's material, but this song got me sold. I've always been hyped on Wale though, partially because he reps for DC so hard. Go Wale, and whoever produced that beat is fresh too. Oh, and while I'm on the subject of RAP, Jay Electronica is doing some cool things.

I don't know how it is in other cities, but Nike Boots are a staple in DC. Logically Nike put on Wale in their commercial. For simply the sake of DC pride, it was kind of cool to see Nike Boots ads in Metro (our subway) stations this year, even though 1) Nike doesn't give a shit about you, and 2) I don't wear Nike Boots.
After approximately a decade in DC, I feel DC in all of its aspects has effected my identity, and it becomes interesting when I have to explain it to someone. (*But if I were to...)

On an another note, self-proclaimed guerilla filmmaker Rik Cordero created this Wale video. Using the internet, low budgets, and a small crew, he has done remarkable things for Nas and Jay-Z, and maybe even for lesser known rapper Snacky Chan. I guess in 2008, less can be more. Bye Bye Hype Williams, but yo "Belly" was dope.
